This was a very thoughtful article. It's hard to believe that restaurants only make 5% profit, when we know that, for example, they will mark up a $9 bottle of wine to $36 or higher. The fees for Opentable do seem high, however, they are obviously are geared towards the benefit of consumers, which, as a consumer, is very refreshing. Nevertheless, restaurants have gouged their customers for years, so this Opentable expense will undoubtedly come at the expense of consumers when all is said and done.
