Historical Walking Tour

When: Sat., July 19, 10:30 a.m. 2008

Examine a little-known slice of local history -- including the founding of Newark in 1876 -- at the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge (1 Marshlands Rd., Fremont) on July 19 by joining docent Ray Studer on a walking tour. Studer spent a year studying the salt production, railroads, and private homes that thrived on this part of the EastBay shoreline as long ago as the 1850s. 10:30 a.m. FWS.gov
