Hari Kondabolu

When: Fri., Dec. 1, 8 p.m. 2017
Price: $29.50
With Donald Trump in the White House, Hari Kondabolu’s political comedy feels more relevant and vital than ever. A co-host (along with Berkeley comedian W. Kamau Bell) of the Politically Reactive podcast, Kondabolu was also a writer and correspondent with Bell’s Totally Biased show on FX. He’s also a frequent guest on NPR, and for good reason — he’s witty, insightful, and provocative both on- and offstage. Most recently, he’s been getting a lot of buzz for his new documentary, The Problem with Apu, which explores how the famous Simpsons character has perpetuated racism, as well as the greater issue of representation in the media. For his Oakland tour stop — his only show in California for the rest of the year — expect Kondabolu to dive into similar topics with a level of thoughtfulness we desperately need more of in today’s political landscape.
