Haley Out, McClain In at McAfee Coliseum

Our deepest apologies for missing this story, but it seems that two weeks ago, Coliseum Authority executive director Ann Haley quit, and Deena McClain has been asked to step in as interim executive director. Oakland blogger Zennie Abraham has a lot of opinions about this, and since he's been working in the Oakland sports business for many a year, he's in a better position that we are to know; it's worth reading. But while Abraham is clearly no fan of Deena McClain, he goes a little far when he calls her a "Deborah Edgerly crony." After all, what's his proof? McClain worked with Edgerly when she was assigned to the Coliseum authority back in the day. Feels a little thin to me. What's more, this eagerness to use an Edgerly association as a weapon seems a little strange, coming from someone who spent weeks defending the former city administrator.
