Cuba’s hearty, spicy Creole cookery — complemented here and there with a few up-market California accents — is prepared and served at this handsome Caribbean venue. While some of the dishes lack the pizzazz of the genuine article, others are well worth ordering: silky, smoky black beans and rice; crisp and creamy fried plantains; thick, luscious cane-glazed pork chops with pineapple-rum chutney; a buttery flan touched with rum. Impressive mojito menu.
