Re: “Sound by Its Cover: The Size Queens' Is It IN Yet?

Why.... Nate Seltenrich is doing some DEEP thinking here, even though I find it lacks penetration. Or does he represent the downward trend in...well, it can't be called reviewing--let's just say his art critique would have left painters like Leon Golub begging for coins, that is, if Seltenrich had any significance to the world of art--or music-- for that matter -- let's face it, Nate, all we really need is a link to OUR page and that'll be the best you can offer, and the reason I'm taking the time to respond to your wasted column inches. If Nate wants to use his blog to talk about our cover art, he might want to ask himself why a pretty package wasn't our concern. Though I do think these paintings lovely, the cover had no conscious phallic implications, though the name and album title shouldn't have been such a mystery. Of course, The Size Queens were really thinking about acquisitiveness, and less about penis size when we named the band. I do think the band name and title have Nate thinking obsessively about his own inadequacies (just a Freudian suggestion), so of course he sets out to metion a girl band at the end, quoting the deep lyric "You're gonna be my boy toy." Next time we'll know your tastes. Right now your invocation of these "sexpunk girls," reads like overcompensation on your part, Nate. We hope our record didn't make you take out the measuring stick again. Some people like men with great ideas and small cocks. Grow your mind, and maybe the rest will follow.
