Re: “Letters of The Week: Our Readers Chime in on the Potential Site for the A's New Stadium, and on Prop 13

What is the problem/issue with the current Oakland Alameda County Coliseum for use by the A's, please:) Why do the A's want to change locations, please?

Re: “East Bay Oil Terminal Expansion Stokes Fears of Air and Water Pollution

Good piece, so since Oakland did not permit oil or coal unload, move up river:) Contra Costa , by Martinez offers other locations for Philips 66, watch those locations for other covert activities/ Also spill and diesel emissions will occur at night, because no one can see them or the source and no one will report until after the fact, when people are sick. Pittsburg, Antioch, even Stockton may be next, follow the docking ports for oil and coal ships. Cheers,

Re: “Supporter of Controversial Israeli Settlements Would Benefit from Exclusive Oakland Public Land Deal

Mr. Jerry Udanski, the Venezuelan economy is oil dependent and hence the drop in oil prices has devastated their economy. You are a relative newbie to Oakland, BTW. Some of us who subscribe are born and raised in the East Bay which makes me a native, hint can you name the First Raider playing field:)? Do you know what large international food chain started in Oakland:)?? Cheers Harbor Bay Isle anyone:)??

Re: “Supporter of Controversial Israeli Settlements Would Benefit from Exclusive Oakland Public Land Deal

From your article"Portfolio Development Properties, a Walnut Creek-based company, over the terms of the propertys sale. Portfolio approached Oakland last November with an unsolicited proposal to build a drive-thru Starbucks on the empty lot at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and 73rd Avenue. The city didnt seek proposals from other developers." 73rd and Bancroft is part of the old GM/Chevvy plant and probably cannot be used for housing due to contamination, but a Gentrification like a Starbuck's drive through can be, nascent gentrification, why Walnut Creek AND unsolicited, dont't we have Oakland real estate folk of the same of better caliber?? How about a Soul Food diner??

Re: “Pups

As an East Bay native of, straight persuasion, never stop fighting for what you KNOW is right. Once people know they can run you over on any inequality issue, they will keep running you over, do not let reason by replaced by fear . No pasaran!

Re: “Oakland to Feds: Stop Pot Raids; Feinstein: Keep Raiding

As an engineer for a now defunct company, Injex Industries in Hayward which sent components to then start up NUMMI, about a year before I joined them, I was doing some rework in 12-1984, when some politicians came through to capitalize on some political propaganda. I actually heard some say, "I only want photos of me with people of color" Feinstein is from the same mold, she has gone down since the mayor of SF (after Joe Alioto). Out of touch indeed.
Cheers
