Gas Prices Down

The Chron reports that thanks to the economic slowdown, the price of gasoline is expected to dip below $3 a gallon. The paper calls this a "silver lining," but as far as we're concerned, this is just more bad news. The only way Americans will choose an alternative to cars, and the exurbs and greenhouse gas and traffic jams and shit that goes with it, is if they're forced to by higher gas prices. Call us a pack of snotty little bike-riding luddites if you want; we do it in the mirror three times a day already.
