Oakland-born G-Eazy is no stranger to Bay Area hip-hop fans. But since putting out a spate of mixtapes with then-novice Lil B and playing shows at local high schools years ago, he has since, to use the indelicate term, exploded. The young, suave, neatly groomed rapper is about to embark on a 33-city "Must Be Nice" tour in the New Year, but before he does, he'll take it easy before a crowd he knows well. While his fanbase has swelled and he's been on many national tours, G-Eazy continues to profess his devotion to his origins. As he raps on the Vivian Girls-featured "Outsider": Labels try to fly me out/buy me sushi sit me down/but I don't fit in with the mainstream now/so I guess that means we can't be down/Sorry fools but I refuse to simply compromise my sound/I'll be up on my indie shit. He'll perform at The New Parish (579 18th St., Oakland) on Thursday, Dec. 27. 8 p.m., $20.
