Cuteness is all over the menu at Fusion Delight, a vast, 328-person restaurant that’s quickly become a top dim sum destination in the inner East Bay. It feels distinctly like a Hong Kong dim sum house, with a grand entrance, flashy color scheme, and focus on dishes that are sure to get lots of love on Instagram. Cream buns look like little piggies. Mushroom-filled buns are actually shaped like mushrooms. And the pastry holding pungent durian fruit is sculpted into an elegant swan. Fortunately, the adorableness avoids feeling too gimmicky and, often times, makes way for compelling innovation. The classics usually hold up, too. If you go after 10:30 a.m. on a weekend, prepare to wait.
