Re: “Sound by Its Cover: The Size Queens' Is It IN Yet?

A paradox: The reviewer makes the postmodern and ironic move of reviewing the cover art rather than the CD, yet proves entirely bulletproof to the irony confronting him. He thinks a record by the Size Queens should have a sexy cover -- as if glandular fixation was really sexy. In fact, the only song overtly about anything sexual on the entire record has the refrain "Is it wrong to love my dentist?" Dirty smudges, interesting blocks of paint, typos and retreating footsteps all make for appropriate and appealing artwork for a record about war, indigenous terrorism, alienated entertainment, shipping charges from amazon.com and a nation so desensitized it hasn't even noticed how badly it's getting screwed.
