Astronomer Andrew Fraknoi will give a free illustrated talk on the eclipse of the Sun coming on August 21, 2017 to the entire U.S. The talk will be held in Room C-150 at the Hall. Fraknoi, author of a new children’s book on eclipses, When the Sun Goes Dark, will describe how eclipses work, why so many people travel thousands of miles to see a total eclipse, when and where the eclipse on August 21 will be visible, and how to observe it and the Sun safely. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and autographs afterwards.
