When: Thu., June 9, 5:30-7 p.m. 2011
Price: free

Cal Professor Emeritus of German Frederic C. Tubach returned to his home country to interview scores of those who, like him, came of age between the years of 1933 and 1945. The result, German Voices: Memories of Life during Hitler's Third Reich, allows rare views into the widely varied psyches of the people of Nazi Germany -- not victims or perpetrators, but ordinary citizens. Tubach reads on Thursday, June 9, at University Press Books (2430 Bancroft Way, Berkeley). 5:30 p.m., free. 510-548-0585 or
