Rated PG-13 · 82 minutes · 2008

Here's the only thing you really need to know about Four Christmases: it's 82 minutes long. This means it doesn't even qualify as a feature-length movie, not in the traditional sense at least. But why should Warner Bros. even care, as long as it's got Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn to sucker audiences into theaters over the protracted holiday season? The studio certainly couldn't count on the so-called "broad comedy" of its script to fill seats. Couple Kate and Brad must attend their divorced parents' four Christmases and, as they learn things about one another's pasts, decide whether or not they're actually meant to be together. The hijinks are often funny, but every scene was clearly written by a roomful of note-doling suits.
