It’s worse than we thought. Robert Kenner’s alarming food industry exposé documentary will not only make you want to swear off factory-farmed meat, but practically everything else on the shelves of your local supermarket. With help from whistle-blowing foodies Michael Pollan and Eric Schlosser, Kenner’s team prowls the miserable fields and feed lots where Monsanto, Cargill, Tyson, and other comestible-industrials cut every conceivable corner to bring American consumers their daily ration of fats and sugars. The one hopeful note: Wal-Mart is going organic, thanks to consumer demand. So, demand healthier food — or learn to love E. coli (94 min.).
