A mismatched pair of WWII Danish resistance fighters — a dapper Copenhagen cop code-named Flame (Thure Lindhardt) and a scruffy, communist family man called Citron (Mads Mikkelson) — teams up to assassinate Nazis and their Danish sympathizers during the German occupation, in director Ole Christian Madsen’s realistically exciting adventure. Of course their Gestapo chief nemesis (Hanns Zischler) is a fiend and Flame’s courier girlfriend (Stine Stengade) commutes a little too often to neutral Stockholm, but that’s what happens in spy movies. The based-on-a-true-story screenplay, by Madsen and Lars Andersen, crackles with righteous fury (130 min.).
