Re: “Mua Is Nothing if Not Existential

WOW, what a complete opposite of what my experiences have been at MUA! I happened to go in last Sunday night, hungry for a burger. I have eaten at MUA many times before with large groups and have taken anywhere from 1-3 other friends in for dinner on other occassions. EVERYONE has raved about the place and food. I had not tried the burger so Sunday night was the night. I indugled and ordered it with gorgonzola and bacon (sans the tomato and onion as I always order my burgers). Ususally I hold the bun too, but this time I wanted to go for it all. My burger was fantastic--the beef was good, the bun was good, all the flavors and textures blended together. Yes, it was a gooey mess as I worked my way through it with lots of finger licks and mouth wiping with my napkin as a GREAT burger should be. I think MUA is a great addition to downtown Oakland and the food scene that is happeneing there.
I feel like I'm picking up something between the lines here that possibly Mr. Birdsall has an issue with the owner and it's being played out in this review?? At any rate, I'll be back for more good food and good times at MUA
