Re: “Hasta Muerte Serves Coffee with a Side of Resistance

Come on TSP. This crew is completely anti Fascist. The article is painting a picture of radical youth trying to do things their own way, bucking the system, and THIS is your concern?

Drop in and make your own assessment.

This isn't a crew of privileged millenniels.

Re: “Why Aren't There More Latinx Nights in Oakland?

Yeah. I put this all on the venues.
No matter the genre, all parties can fail. The venues should take 2-3 chances on every party. New parties should start monthly on a weeknight, and if they are successful, either be offered a weekend monthly or take their party elsewhere.

Some parties may need more than 2-3 tries to get off the ground. Word of mouth still works. And venues should know which parties will need more than 2-3 tries to marinate into something that will last.

If you're a Latinx DJ or promoter, please, please keep trying. Last year, last month, last week might not have been the time for your party to jump off. But this month, or next, it could be CRACKIN'.

Re: “Oakland Police Report: No More Officers Will Face Discipline in Celeste Guap Police Sex Crimes Scandal

In essence, the command staff was told to go to their room and think about what they have done.

Re: “After 28 Years, Colonial Donuts Faces Closure as Uptown Oakland Rents Continue to Rise

I worked in that neighborhood for a long time. If Happy Burrito is scraping by with the amount of business they do, the rent must be too high.

There's no loyalty shown by landlords. Being a good tenant isn't enough. They want to kick everybody out, so they can get market rate.

Capitalism sux.

Re: “Oakland's Only Nigerian Restaurant Was Set to Close, Until Community Rallied Behind Miliki

Isn't this old news? I had breakfast at Miliki months ago and an employee told me then, that the landlord had told them they could stay.
