Re: “Albany: A Seething Caldron of Lust?

Kay Sorg is and always will be up there amongst some of the best teachers Albany has ever seen. Other districts, parents, and students would be so lucky to have such a passionate, inteligent, warm, supportive, and enthusiastic teacher. It is such a shame that after so many years of dedicating her life to teaching, she is summarized only by these accusations. She was my science teacher over 10 years ago, and although i'll admit she was a tough grader, I still consider her one of the most influential and exciting people that I was so fortunate to have been taught by. It makes me sick to think that for all the good that she has given to this community that people are still quick to absorb this information as if it holds absolute truth. Some of the qualities that make Albany teachers so rare, are the endless love and dedication they give to all students, fellow teachers, and parents. It's as though each child is their own. For someone as affective and prominent as Mrs. Sorg, we cannot dismiss what she has done as an educator and caretaker, and we cannot abandon her in her time of need. Having attended AMS, as well as worked in the Albany District, I am extremely saddened by the inevitable trauma this will have on her, her carreer and her loved ones. My heart goes out to her family and loved ones, and most importantly my support stays strong in her favor. I speak for myself as well as many others in the community when I say we will stand by her until the truth unfolds. We love you Mrs. Sorg.
