Re: “Updated: Dark Money Group Paid for Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf's Inauguration Festivities

Steve Berley is one of the lead Oakmore fear and security proponents. Patrollers regularly racially profile on listservs . No wonder Libby and Annie Campbell Washington refuse to address racial profiling in the Oakmore/Dimond, profilers pay their bills.

Re: “AHS Reverses Decision to Close Substance Abuse Treatment Center at Highland Hospital

Most of our public mental health dollars go to Telecare, a for-profit company. That's why most of our neighbors with mental health or substance abuse problems are in crisis on our streets. When they get to beat up or so sick that they need medical attention, they end up in Alameda Health System hospitals. Then the hospital has no resources to house or discharge them and County Supervisors further penalize the AHS for not being efficient.

Re: “Bay Area and California District Attorneys Don’t Reflect State and Region’s Diversity

Craig Chew Chief Inspector Alameda County DA was OPD, he may draw an OPD pension, plus $151,770 salary and $117,535 benefits for a total of $272,109$ from the County of Alameda.

OPD Captain Figueroa waxed poetic about the DA at a recent public meeting and spoke how OPD collaborated with the DA to write anti-trafficking legislation. Maybe he plans to join Captain Orosco and Chief Inspector Chew at the DA's office.

I think we need a special prosecutor, for police misconduct. With former OPD on the DA's staff, ongoing collaboration on legislation with OPD, and campaign contributions from Oakland Police and their union, I don't see how District Attorney Nancy O'Malley can be objective when investigating police misconduct by OPD.

Re: “Bay Area and California District Attorneys Don’t Reflect State and Region’s Diversity

How many OPD officers retire out with full pensions and benefits and hop, skip, and jump it over to the DA's investigator's office and start building a county pension like Captain Orosco just did? How does this double-dipping the DA ability to be "unbiased" about police misconduct?

Re: “BREAKING NEWS: Oakland City Attorney Said Luxury Tower Deal Is Illegal

The Council is rapidly loosing all legitimacy with the people of Oakland. They serve only developers and other lobbyist, they use police as private security, and put careerism and cronyism above public service. Pitiful, just pitiful!

Re: “Oakland Councilmembers Question Police Overspending to Crack Down on Protesters

The mayor campaigned on promises of community policing and restorative justice. The protest curfew puts a target on the head of Oakland youth and makes them unwelcome in downtown. Libby completely failed to consider how her curfew would affect youth and families. There are multiple middle and high schools in downtown Oakland; her militarized approach to vandalism prevention has had a chilling and frightening effect on families and children, who should feel they have every right to be in their city. After implementing this policy, she has hidden from her constituents and locked down the council, allowing no dissent or discourse with children and families impacted

Re: “Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf Institutes Ban On Nighttime Street Protests

Quan lost her seat as mayor for violating OPD's crowd control policy during Occupy. Was Libby asleep when Quan committed political suicide by bullying protesters, or maybe she was playing Candy Crush with Anne Campbell Washington? This was not just mean and illegal, it's going to cost tax payers millions. Now there is talk of taking back Tiffin, more protests at Libby's in Oakmore.
