Election 2006: Is Veek the Chic Way to Geek?

Aw, now here is a cute election-day idea, thanks to the kids at Veek the Vote: harness the power of the Wireless Generation by allowing them to instantly upload cellphone video interviews with friends and compatriots about who they voted for today and why. ("Veek" = "video peek.") Sure, the video is grainy and the sound quality tends to be mumbly, but look closely and you may see a few friends -- students at UC Berkeley and UCSF seem to be doing a disproportionate amount of the veeking -- or some local political luminaries like SF School Board candidate Jane Kim making the rounds with her posters.
