The third annual El Cerrito Restaurant Week is billed as a way for locals to celebrate their community, but it's also a great opportunity for East Bay residents to explore this dining scene. Even though El Cerrito is geographically petite, it has more than 60 restaurants. About a dozen are offering special discounts or menus from Monday, Oct. 16, to Sunday, Oct. 22. On Friday, Oct. 20, for example, Berkeley Country Club (7901 Cutting Blvd.) will prepare a $47 prix-fixe menu, which includes lobster salad and filet mignon. Dine at gastropub Elevation 66 (10082 San Pablo Ave.) and get 10 percent off your entire order. At region-spanning Chinese restaurant Noodles Fresh (10042 San Pablo Ave.), each table will receive a free appetizer with any lunch or dinner. Enticed? Peep the website for the full list of participating restaurants.
