East Bay Mine Operator Faces Fine

Wait a minute: We've got a sulfur mine in the East Bay hills? Those lovely bucolic little bumps we love to skip around in, pretending we're John Muir at the dawn of America? Sho nuff, and it's even leaching acid into streams that collect on the grounds of Mill College! And you thought you got away from Trenton when you graduated from high school. In any case, said mine has an operator named Collin Mbanugo, and according to the Tribune, he's facing a $200,000 fine for failing to file reports about how he's cleaning up the mess. Generally speaking, if a guy's not reporting how he's cleaning up the mine, he's probably not cleaning it up in the first place. But we're speaking generally here, of course.
