The moment you’ve been waiting for all year — the start of the Dungeness crab season — has finally arrived. What better way to celebrate than with a family-style holiday feast at Hopscotch? At dinnertime from Friday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Nov. 25, the Japanese-influenced retro diner in Uptown Oakland is serving a sharable Dungeness crab feast. The star of the meal is a whole steamed Dungeness crab, served with drawn butter. Alongside the whole crab, diners will also share miso soup made with crab fat and Old [East] Bay fried rice. Hopscotch’s regular menu will also be available, with favorites like oysters on the half shell, buttermilk fried chicken, smoked brisket, and seared scallops. Round out the meal with one of Hopscotch’s signature cocktails, or select a wine from their extensive list. Reservations are available online at Resy, but walk-ins are also accepted.
