Re: “Whole Foods or Major Headache?

This project seems ideal to me. Many people enjoy shopping at Whole Foods. Albany can use the money. The project is in an appropriate area, near a freeway entrance, so that traffic is able able to enter and leave, minimally affecting residential streets. Nail salons and tattoo parlors will not inhabit these new retail spaces. They could not afford the rent. Whole Foods has always attracted a higher class of neighbor. You cannot show me one Whole Foods that has negatively impacted a neighborhood. And, believe it or not, the recession will end some day and many of those vacant storefronts will be filled. I regret that WF is not unionized, but many similar establishments are also not unionized. Opposition to this proposal is NIMBYism at it's worst.
