The sound on this computer-animated fantasy is so clear, you can almost hear the flop sweat puddling around the voice talents' feet. A British-French co-production whose charm was lost in translation, this yarn about a candy-loving pooch that defies a half-Slinky ice sorcerer (Jon Stewart, whose why-me Oscar monologue just wrote itself) looks like the Disney Channel Thorazine that kids ingest each morning with their Froot Loops. The images are psychedelically bright and antiseptically tidy; every surface appears to have been Scotchgarded. But the fire-sale merchants at the Weinstein Company dubbed in a hodgepodge of would-be hipsters -- Jimmy Fallon as a stoner bunny, Whoopi Goldberg as a sassy cow, Kevin Smith as a farting moose -- and the disconnect between the bland character designs and the desperately with-it pop-culture riffs produces a What's Up, Tiger Lily? effect that's more surreal than funny. Ideal audience: a six-year-old pothead who can quote Pulp Fiction backwards.
