Re: “Tom Ammiano Withdraws Medical Marijuana Regulation Bill AB 2312 from California Senate

"Americans for Safe Access" is not a "patient lobby". It is an investor lobby where side deals are made that financial benefit Don Duncan and several others by lobbying city councils to get Medical Marijuana Dispensaries zoned with "Restrictive Permitting".
Simply put, instead of fair and reasonable regulations for dispensaries, these people encourage a bunch of stores to open, then go into city council and propose that they way to close those very same stores is by issuing them and their investors a "Restrictive Permit" for which only someone with special permission $$ can operate. All others will be subject to raid and arrest.
The "Patients" actually pay higher prices because this "Restrictive Permits" eliminate the competition and drive up the price.
It sounds like Don Duncan finally admitted ASA is a "lobby". This is different than a non-profit, or anything speaking for a social cause. With a social movement the goal would be freedom and fairness for all people, not a hidden financial agenda for some wealthy investors.
