Re: “Albany: A Seething Caldron of Lust?

As a former teacher in the Albany Unified School District (now retired), and as a union member who had to get involved in many disputes between the District, a parent, a child vs a particular teacher, I can say that the field is ripe vor speculation, inuendo and hotheaded comments. I know nothing about the facts in this case, but I can attest to the fact that the process is brutal on all those involved. My heart goes out to Kay Sorg and her husband who are enduring hell at this time. I would not wish this circus of comments and speculation on even my worst enemy let alone a teacher I respect for her many years of teaching and involvement with the Albany Schools. My heart goees out to her many friends who would like to help but cannot. My heart goes out to the accuser who has to relive whatever they think happened 15 years ago, but most of all my heart goes out to all those cowardly friends of Kay Sorg in the teaching profession who remain silent and don't show her any support. For you my friends there is nothing as cruel as being cut off when something like this happens to you. So call Kay and Etch and express what you feel in your heart so they don't feel cut off from their community.

Re: “Answering Some Reader Questions about the Kay Sorg Arrest

As a former teacher (retired) who worked with Kay Sorg for many years, I am not qualified to comment on the charges, since no information is available to evaluate the accuser. But I want to go on record as supporting Kay Sorg and her husband both Middle school teachers at the Albany Unified School District. As is the case when allegations are made against a teacher of any nature all the people involved say they can not discuss the matter because it involves personnel matters. What we forget at this time is that we are discussing a wonderful teacher and a respected colleague. I for one will say I support Kay through these difficult times. I wonder why a person would wait 15 years to come forward with such allegations. But according to the police the accuser's identity is protected. This investigation has been going on for a long time before any arrest was made. All troubling to me. But I unequivically support Kay and her husband as they go through this terrible ordeal and will not forget or be silent about this support. Kay you deserve better, my heart aqnd mind is with you two. If I can be of any help contact me.
