Doctors Without Borders Present: Forced From Home Exhibit

When: Oct. 30-Nov. 5, 9 a.m. 2017
Price: free
Around the world, people are being forced to flee their homes because of war, persecution for their religious beliefs, and other life-threatening scenarios. These refugees go through the unthinkable in order to escape danger. While many of us will never experience this heart-wrenching ordeal, we can get a better sense of what refugees endure through a new traveling exhibit called Forced from Home. Presented by Doctors Without Borders, the 10,000-square-foot outdoor exhibit is designed to simulate the journey of a person who is forced to flee. Visitors will be able to engage with items and imagery gathered from refugee camps, rescue missions, and emergency medical projects. And they can hear from aid workers who have provided humanitarian relief. The exhibit also includes a virtual reality section where visitors will be taken to Iraq, Lebanon, Mexico, Tanzania, and South Sudan — areas where a large portion of displaced people currently reside. Don’t miss your chance to partake in this interactive exhibit and understand why the refugee crisis needs our attention. UPDATED LOCATION: Kaiser Convention Center parking lot Monday, Oct. 30 through Tuesday, Nov. 5, 9 a.m to 5 p.m., Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center parking lot, at 10th Street, Oakland,
