Re: “Berkeley's Unequal Punishment of Teachers

@ Ruth below. Why would they produce any data? I feel these PAR hearings are all sham hearings. When people fail at the program as most do, they are given a chance to resign or get fired. Most resign, so they can keep their teaching credential. Well when you "resign" you sign all sorts of paperwork that you won't talk about the PAR process, seemingly so the sham process can continue. I believe that when they started doing PAR in my district way back in the early 90s, it was used on a couple of gay teachers that parents had "problems" with. The district couldn't fire them for being gay, so they found them "unsatisfactory" for nebulous reasons - then the same PAR process came in and those people were quietly dismissed. Now PAR seems to be used as retaliation or to get rid of old or fat people or more importantly people who don't KA to principals. I have believed since it came to the midwest early in the 90s that is was a big scam. I'm shocked that the PAR corruption made its way to California. I guess Dal Lawerence's corruption couldn't be contained to Ohio. So to answer your question Ruth, I would be shocked if the ever release data, and if they do I'm sure they will use smoke and mirrors to make this sham program look fair. Meanwhile, Dal Lawerence gets rich and his ego grows.
