Re: “Time for a Gay-Marriage Initiative?

Correction:

2010 is the time to put this proposal before voters, not 2012. Prop 8 marginally won on the support of Blacks and Latinos who went to the polls to vote for Obama. Obama is not running in 2010 and there's a good possibility that a lot of Blacks and Latinos out of disinterest in the race will stay home. Sorry if this sounds distasteful, but I find the fact that any Black or Latino person could vote to discriminate against another minority extremely distasteful. Discrimination is wrong because it is unjust and NOT just because you happen to be discriminated against. This is something Blacks and Latinos should understand but apparently don't.

Re: “Time for a Gay-Marriage Initiative?

The trouble with putting this issue on the ballot in 2012 is that Black and Hispanic groups will also be out in force to vote for Obama. I'd prefer to see this come up in 2010, when Blacks and Hispanics will likely stay home. Sorry if this post is offensive to some, but I find offensive the fact that Blacks and Hispanics voted in favor of discrimination in the last election and helped push Prop 8 to victory.
