The war on drugs has and always will be a failure. Addiction is not a disease, it is a mental disorder/issue. And marijuana is not even in this discussion, it is non addictive (you can argue all you want there are studies to prove my claim done by the USA in the 70's and 80's), a healer and a help to the human body, not a destructive enemy as has been proven time and time again through rigorous studies. Addiction to highly destructive substances, however, can be fixed through rehabilitation and work and love, all that stuff that pulls someone out of the mental hole they are in. It will never be fixed through "fighting" drugs, or incarceration. We have always been fighting the wrong enemy. The enemy of addicts is not the drug, it is themselves.
