Re: “The Posies

Hey Musicnazi,

I'm not saying the Posies should have anything to be ashamed about in looking to experiment and expand beyond what's come to be expected of them. I applaud the band for taking chances. I've loved what they've done and as much as I'm supposed to be impartial, (which I think is a load of crap as I look at music critics as being fans who generally have a knack for the written word no matter how much they may protest that this isn't the case), I look forward to future Posies album. Matter of fact, I like this one quite a bit. That said, I played devil's advocate and when you color outside of the lines, sometimes it's going to work and sometimes it's not. No shame in falling short....all the more shame in not trying....which obviously the band did do, (try something different that is). I didn't trash the album. I said they occasionally fell short. That doesn't quite sound like me saying the band was the next coming of Ke$ha or Katy Perry.

As for the latter, please don't ask me to try Katy Perry. I'd sooner puncture my eardrums with chopsticks. Please do continue to record, tour and prove that pop music doesn't have to be some kind of pre-fabricated crap conjured up by a team of hit doctors and instead can be the kind of organic food for the soul that's the hallmark of great music. Thanks for taking the time to read my review and provide feedback.
