Fast-talking, hyperactive South Vietnamese comedian DatPhan is one of those performers who always seem to be on some kind of norepinephrine-boosting drug, though he's probably just a really animated guy. Phan brings a unique brand of self-deprecating humor to the medium, and is one of the few people who can get away with joking about the influx of Vietnamese in the beauty care industry, or affecting that mock-first-generation accent that requires a speaker to eliminate auxiliary verbs ("I laugh for you!"). He'll take the stage September 3-7 at Tommy T's Comedy & Steakhouse (5104 Hopyard Rd., Pleasanton). 7, 7:30, 9:30 p.m., $15-$30.
