Comedy
Like its methane-filled outhouse that explodes right on cue, this sequel to Daddy Day Care (2003) smells. Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Paul Rae take over the Eddie Murphy and Jeff Garlin roles as fathers who renovate a decrepit summer camp for their sons, only to be sabotaged at every turn by a rival camp owner (Lochlyn Munro). The juvenile actors come off as movie brats, and the pacing is slowed by treacly speeches about father-son bonding. As a child star on The Wonder Years, Fred Savage worked with some of TV's best, but you'd never guess it from his direction here.
