Re: “Kay Sorg Demurrer Hearing Continued to October 19

Looks like the DA is quickly running out of straws to grab. The burden here seems thankfully on the prosecutors for once... they have already dropped the charges down to 4 and Sorg's attorney is claiming they have no evidence.

Re: “Albany: A Seething Caldron of Lust?

The Tribune wrote, "Authorities said the alleged victim was Song's student in an eighth-grade science class, but the relationship did not begin until 1990, when the student was a freshman at Albany High. The alleged sex crimes took place at Sorg's home, the school and other locations around the Bay Area, police said." So I assume the "victim" is AHS class of 1994 (one year ahead of me). 13 charges were dropped to 5, so I take it the DA is grabbing at straws. Nevertheless she is still innocent until a jury is coerced into saying otherwise. Someone was asking about statistics regarding female-female teacher-student relationships. I heard the other day in an unrelated case something like 80% of teachers are female, but 2 out of 3 convicted offenders (teachers) are male. I heard that Mrs. Sorg was transfered to Santa Rita but then was able to post bail, can someone confirm this?

Re: “Albany: A Seething Caldron of Lust?

May I remind those who are questioning Mrs. Sorg's innocence. She is completely and undeniably innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. This why America is so fucked up because 1) Attorneys who are nothing more than legal racketeers and 2) the jury is not the 12 people who sit in a courtroom box, but the muckraking public and media consensus. If you even speculate at this point that Mrs. Sorg is in fact guilty, you are highly unamerican.

Re: “Albany: A Seething Caldron of Lust?

The accuser is over 18 now and should have to face the same media scrutiny now as Mrs. Sorg. This case is complete slander and this article is in very bad taste. Lauren Gard is one of the worst "journalists" I have had the displeasure of reading recently. Seriously with the invention of blogs and AP style feeds, investigative journalism has hit the bottom of the barrel. How about looking into some facts before you ruin people's reputations on the internet and in your rag. Your comparison with "" and some sort of sexual innuendo involving plant genetics is a sad reflection of your skills Ms. Gard. She was a science teacher. My homeroom teacher. She was also responsible for my California state sex-ed which was clearly clinical considering the maturity of 7th graders. I will be watching you closely Ms. Gard and I will have no problem slandering you and your reputation. Get a clue. @a penny: Well done in noticing the age conflict. Looks like you need to be working at the Voice instead of the current morons.

Re: “Albany: A Seething Caldron of Lust?

She was my science teacher in middle school and she was a wonderful teacher and one of the few who could make hard subjects fun and interesting. I doubt this is true as she was in a very happy marriage, he husband was also one of my teachers and they would both always talk about each other in class. If more people in Albany would be like Mrs. Sorg instead of the Naziesque unit that makes up the Albany police force, I would have had a happier childhood, the east bay would have been a better place, and there would clearly be less mental problems exhibited in students such as this accuser. To persecute a career Albany Unified School District educator who is grossly underpaid like a problem-having celebrity in a tabloid is morally wrong on all counts. Let us scrutinize this "victim" and see why her boyfriend was expelled from the AUSD. Mrs. Sorg has single-handedly propelled more people into the higher eduction of science than anyone I can think of.
