CUESA's Summer Jam

When: Sun., July 15, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. 2018
Price: free
The farmers’ markets are looking particularly gorgeous these days, with mountains of ripe peaches, deep-red strawberries, and plump cherry tomatoes. In celebration of this bounty, CUESA will pack the next Jack London Square Farmers’ Market with summery attractions, including corn hole, crafts for kids, dancing, and interactive, educational activities. But the overall theme for the Summer Jam is, fittingly, jam. There will be a preserves contest, where folks can both submit their seasonal preserves for judging and the wider public can taste the various jams, chutneys, and other preserves before voting for the best one. (Jam-makers should get entries in between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., and tasters can snag bites from 11 a.m. until the jars are empty.) At noon, Becky Courchesne of Frog Hollow Farm will demonstrate how to make jam and take full advantage of the season.
