Crowden Music Center 25th Anniversary Concert

When: Sat., May 24, 7 p.m. 2008
Price: $15-$25

What a celebration! The list of performers at the Crowden Music Center 25th Anniversary Concert includes some of the finest musicians in the Bay Area: David Abel, George Cleve, Deirdre Cooper, Karla Donehew, Bonnie Hampton, Wei He, Paul Hersh, Nathan Olson, Emil Miland, Donald Runnicles, Benjamin Simon, Julie Steinberg, and the CrowdenSchool Orchestra. It's fitting for a unique organization that has grown to serve more than 6,000 music lovers each year. In addition to Bloch's Concerto Grosso No. 2, Brahms' Sonata No.1 in G Major, Op. 78, Schubert's great Quintet in C Major, D 956, and Bach's Orchestral Suite No. 3, young Crowden musicians will perform a new commission from Crowden alumnus Matthew Cmiel and the traditional group rendition of LeRoy Anderson's "Fiddle-Faddle." At Hertz Hall (Bancroft Wy. at Telegraph Ave., UC Berkeley) on Saturday, May 24. 7 p.m., $15-$25. or 510-559-6910.
