Creole Creed Pop-up

When: Thursdays-Saturdays, 5-11 p.m.
If you’ve been desperately missing Creole Creed’s California Creole cuisine ever since their residency at Plum Bar ended, never fear: the family-owned, women-run business from Oakland is taking up residence at the Octopus Literary Salon in Oakland every Thursday through Saturday evening, starting with a soft launch this Saturday. With family roots in Opelousas, Louisiana, Creole Creed’s food puts a Bay Area twist on Louisiana-style Creole dishes, which draw from a mixture of African, European, and Indigenous influences. On the menu are their signature hand-sized savory pastry pies, stuffed with curry beef, shrimp etouffee, or vegan veggie sauté. It’s a complete California-Creole meal in the palm of your hand.
