Good lord. A deputy district attorney in Contra Costa County, who ran for D.A. three times, has served in the office for twenty years, and most recently has specialized in prosecuted sex crimes, was arrested on charges that he raped another deputy district attorney. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Michael Gressett has been formally charged with rape, oral copulation, sodomy and penetration with a foreign object. The details are a little sketchy; cops learned of the alleged incident on September 26, but the incident itself allegedly occurred months earlier. Gressett is being held on $1 million bail, and the D.A.'s office is planning to turn the case over to Attorney General Jerry Brown.
