Join the fun as Oakland comes together to nourish, celebrate and unite around the new Community Foods Market and free annual festival in the city’s McClymonds/Hoover/Foster neighborhood on Saturday June 1, 11-4. The long-awaited grand opening of the area’s first full-service grocer in decades will feature live music from Oakland activist and hip-hop/R&B artist Jonah Melvon, West Coast Blues Society, Oakland Public Conservatory of Music and others; community resource fair; Oakland A’s interactive zone; children’s activities; food sampling (while supplies last); #TOWNFOLK Salon Series; health & wellness activities; participatory mural painting with Attitudinal Healing Connection, and more.
