Comment of the Week, 5/9-5/15

Buckets and buckets of acclaim this week to linkage on Rachel Swan's harrowing tale of imprisonment at review of the Berkeley Actors' Ensemble's Passion Play:

Rachel Swan seems a little to preoccupied with finding ways to sneak out shows. I noticed in her review of Impact Theatre's "Disassembly" she complains that there are no scene changes or blackouts. She states, "no one had the option of sneaking out."

To be honest, I mostly picked this one because it proves that someone actually read the theater section for two whole weeks in a row. Nonetheless: linkage, a thousand proverbial gold stars to you. Everyone else, shape up.

History-laden thrillers, intellectual capers, a romantic heroine with a Ph.D, a murder mystery penned by a MacArthur Genius: This summer’s best books — many of which have local authors and settings — are equal parts brainy and beachy.
