Comics Workshop

When: Thu., Feb. 7, 4 p.m. 2008
Price: free

As top dog at San Francisco's Immedium publishing company, Oliver Chin publishes award-winning illustrated children's books. His own writing and drawing resume is rich and varied -- he was staff cartoonist at the Harvard Crimson, his graphic novel 9 of 1 explored post-9/11 emotions among teenagers, and his book The Tao of Yao taught hoops fans a lot more about Yao Ming. At the Bay Point Library (205 Pacifica Ave., Bay Point) on Thursday, Feb. 7, Chin hosts a free comics workshop for adults and kids (age ten and up), showing how to turn ideas into drawings. 4 p.m. CCCLib.org
