Color My World

Marwan Masarweh

Born in Jordan, he moved to the East Bay 23 years ago. Today, he is the manager of Doyle Street Cafe in Emeryville. After many years here, he has feet firmly planted in both Jordanian and American cultures. With two jobs to make life hectic, he prefers to spend relaxing weekends at his home in Dublin tending his flower garden.

Crossroads World Market (230 Jackson St., Hayward). Masarweh's favorite place for Jordanian groceries and products from around the world.

Palomares Cafe (3779 E. Castro Valley Blvd., Castro Valley). His favorite bar/restaurant haunt to hang out with friends.

Arab-American St. Thomas More Church (San Francisco). Where Masarweh goes for a little spiritual lift.
