Clorox Down, Peet's Up

Is it a sign of the times or something? The East Bay Business Times reports that while the Oakland-based Clorox company's profits dropped 22 percent, Peet's Coffee revenue jumped 17 percent. Don't you people know bleach is very useful at getting out all those high-powered coffee stains? According to the Times, a good chunk of Clorox's problems were related to the company's acquisition of Burt's Bees, the environmentally sustainable and socially conscious maker of natural household products. But not beewax or honey; those days are long gone.
