Re: “In Oakland Hills Race, A Battle of Ideologies

Frank,

Does Annie Campbell Washington also = Robert Bobb? Who she also worked for?

Annie Campbell Washington is a dedicated public servant who has worked to make Oakland a better place to live. When the current mayor and the city were having a tough time, she was asked to help, and she said yes. (Not an easy choice when trying to raise a young family) She'd been chief of staff to another mayor, and saw an opportunity to help make things better. When elected, if constituents call with a problem or an idea for a park, or a library or a neighborhood, she already knows the people who can help, and has the experience, knowledge and mutual respect to bring people together. Would you rather have someone who is an "outsider" or someone who can get a department head or even someone from the Governor's office on the line to help with a problem? For some reason, elected officials are the only profession where a lot of people don't value experience. I would rather have someone in there who has the experience and know-how to get things done.
