Anyone who thinks Eucalyptus have become native, doesn't understand biology. Eucalyptus have no natural predators here and oils from their leaves denude the under-story of many native plants - including, for example, redwoods. If you ultimately want a Eucalyptus mono-culture, do nothing. I'd rather keep California hospitable to the biodiversity that evolved here. A few well-maintained, historical groves of Eucalyptus? Sure. Nothing wrong with that. But I, for one, won't shed a tear for the eradication of the rest. Nor for Scotch Broom.
