Re: “Experts Confident Marijuana Legalization Will Pass in California on Election Day

Thank you David Downs and EB Express for pointing out that the "cannabis industry" has donated little to this campaign and that most of the money comes from social justice organizations. Far from being a "corporate" initiative, this is a restorative justice initiative with a business regulatory arm that enfranchises our existing cannabis cottage industry to the greatest extent possible. I have worked with DPA and other groups and am proud to have them on board. I am so sick of the conspiracy theorists and it's good to have some solid reporting on this situation. On to November and let's win big. Yes on Prop. 64

Re: “California Legislature: 'We're Regulating Medical Marijuana'

The real concern here is not with licensing the commercial activities but with collective access. Under SB 420 any number of patients can work together to supply each other. Under AB266 that was cut back to 5 patients with local governments allowed to ban that, and now it sounds like we're rolling the collective legal protections back 18 years to Prop 215 levels! Brown and legislators: You're Going The Wrong Way!" Please remove all felony penalties, turn all misdeeanors to infractions, add new legal rights (wow! what an amazing concept, a medical marijuana bill to protect patients rather than just businesses!), allow non-commercial HS 11362.775 collectives up to 20 people and require every county and city over 20,000 people to have a dispensary. Bring prices down, don't encourage the illicit market. Protect patient civil rights. This is a tragedy, not reform.
