When: Thu., June 16, 7:30 p.m. 2011

Ten Years that Shook the City: San Francisco 1968-1978 is not about the longest earthquake nobody felt -- it's a collection of essays (historical and personal) encompassing the years between the SF State University strike in 1968 and the Jonestown/Milk/Moscone tragedies a decade later. Editor Chris Carlsson (executive director of the multimedia history project Shaping San Francisco), joined by contributors Lincoln Cushing and Tim Drescher, gives a visual presentation on Thursday, June 16, at Pegasus Downtown (2349 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley). 7:30 p.m., free. 510-649-1320 or Pegasus.Indiebound.com
