Dolly Ci Fong headlines a program of Chinese calligraphy, art, and poetry at the Alameda Main Library (1550 Oak St., Alameda) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2. Presented by Alameda Island Poets and the California Federation of Chaparral Poets, the event is hosted by Alameda's Poet Laureate, Mary Rudge. Once a homeless mother of seven, Rudge is the coauthor of Poems from Street Spirit.
